Day job pays the bills, night job keeps the blood pumping. Life is made of cupcakes, naps and pixels.
Your fantasy to live out the wild life of an out-of-control galactic crew might come to fruition.
Telltale Games, the highly revered maker of episodic games, might be taking their first step into the Marvel universe with Guardians of the Galaxy. Having already firmly cemented their unique games in the DC universe with the release of the Batman series, this is sure to be sweet music to comic book fans’ ears.
The very underappreciated SAG-AFTRA voice actors, who have been on strike over low wages in the industry, have helped unleash some insider info, and this game seems to be one of them. While none of this is officially confirmed, it’s pretty much a *wink*wink*, *nudge*nudge* scenario for the Guardians of the Galaxy version of a Telltale Game come to life. Using the leak as a tactic to outline why the strike is taking place, and what games did not have new voice deals to them, a document hit the internet outlining a few games in production, most with code names. While it is no secret a Marvel-based game was in production at Telltale, as it was announced in 2015 that something new and exciting was headed gamers’ way, there were no clear details on which part of the Marvel Comic Universe was going to get the video game treatment.
Again, this isn’t a solid, official, and in-stone announcement from the gamemakers, but it’s pretty clear that something is indeed in the works. I wonder how this will affect the game in the long-run, having a bit of the “announcement hype” wind taken from their sails, and having the stain of being used as a fighting point during the voice actor’s strike. I don’t see Telltale Games throwing their hands up in the air, especially with the release date slated for next year, but it makes one wonder what voices will be in the game… and what voices should have been in the game.
