Tonight marks the premiere of Geek and Sundry’s new RPG show, Ten Candles: Eclipse, and they want you to be prepared because there will be no survivors. None. Nada. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Everyone is utterly, and completely DOOMED. So be ready to see all your favorite faces from all of your favorite TTRPG shows bite the dust in the most dark and disturbing ways, because this is happening, people! Tonight’s episode will feature Dan Casey (Explainiac, Nerdist News), Josephine McAdam (Vampire: The Masquerade – L.A. by Night, The Leftovers), Krystina Arielle (Critical Role, The Sirens), and David Blue (Ugly Betty, Stargate Universe). Over the course of the show, 40 players will be featured and yes…all of them, D-O-O-M-E-D.
Based on the tabletop storytelling game by Stephen Dewey, and led by the brilliant GM, Ivan Van Norman (Dread: Sagas of Sundry), Ten Candles: Eclipse promises to be full of tragedy and despair. Ten Candles is described as “a zero-prep tabletop storytelling game designed for one-shot 2-4 hour sessions of tragic horror.” Originally released in December of 2015, Ten Candles is played by the light of ten tea candles, which provide atmosphere, and act as a countdown timer for the game. The candles “allow you to literally burn your character sheet away as you play.” The point of the game is that everyone will die; it isn’t about winning, but about what happens in the dark. Players can expect to be pushed to the brink of madness and despair, while doing their best to search for hope in a hopeless world.
So, if you want dark, you’ll get DARK. Ten Candles: Eclipse airs Mondays, starting tonight, from 9PM PT to midnight on Geek and Sundry’s Twitch channel. Tune in with us and join us as we live tweet what is sure to be a truly chilling RPG experience!
